Ophélie Dutraive Moulin-à-Vent 2022 showcases her unique approach to Gamay from Moulin-à-Vent. Working on organically farmed plots with vines as old as 100 years, Ophélie follows the family tradition with a minimalist, natural touch. This wine features carbonic maceration with native yeasts and a very low sulfur addition of 15 mg/L. Aged in a blend of demi-muids and neutral barrels for seven months, it maintains a classic Moulin-à-Vent structure but with a lively energy and purity of fruit, echoing the Dutraive signature style. The result is a fresh, elegant wine with layers of complex minerality and intense, juicy red berry flavors. Perfect for enthusiasts of dynamic, terroir-driven Beaujolais, it’s both vibrant and nuanced

About the Ophelie:

Ophélie Dutraive is a dynamic new force in the Beaujolais wine world, bringing a fresh perspective to the family’s iconic winemaking tradition. As the daughter of Jean-Louis Dutraive, a revered figure in Beaujolais, Ophélie has a deep-rooted knowledge of organic and natural viticulture, which she now applies to her own cuvées. Since 2019, she’s been crafting wines from her own half-hectare in the esteemed Moulin-à-Vent appellation, where she works with old vines up to 100 years old.

Ophélie’s winemaking style is minimalist, relying on carbonic maceration with indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur, and aging in neutral barrels, creating wines that balance traditional depth with a youthful vibrancy. Each vintage is an expression of both her skill and the unique terroir she works to preserve, bringing a refined energy to the Dutraive legacy
